Just a bunch of Bike and the Likers on a scouting trip to Andalucia, Spain
December 2, 2008
Once in a while we get a hankering to do things the way we did in the 80s before we became a touring group.
For those of you who were not cycling back then, touring was usually getting a small group together for an adventure on two wheels.
Adventure meant that all the loose ends were not so neatly tied by a host so that every part of your trip was perfectly packaged.
Yes, there was always the instigator - usually me - who was looking for the new place to discover. With that role of "instigator" also came the responsibility to check out the details, routes, plans for lodging and meals and come up with a budget.
I've always had a love/hate relationship with this role of Instigator but I love to discover new places and think the most fulfilling way to travel is by bike.
I know others feel the way I do but don't have the inclination to plan an adventure.
